Over 6,175 acres of prime land along sixteen pristine miles of shoreline on Kauai’s northwestern cats comprises the Na Pali Coast State Park. Because there is no Kauai real estate for sale in the area, the beauty and unaltered landscape is one of Hawaii’s best secrets. Extending from Kee Beach to the Polihale State Park, the distinctive cliffs rise as much as 4,000 feet above the water below creating a truly breathtaking view.
The best way to enjoy the coastline is by boat, although the waters on that side of Kauai are known to be quite rough throughout the majority of the year. Although cars cannot access the region, many people choose to kayak, hike, or even use a helicopter to get a glimpse of one of the state’s most scenic views.
The Kalalau Trail, leading into Kalalau Valley which the park protects, covers eleven miles, crosses give major valleys, and leads visitors willing to make the trek to Kalalau Beach. For those willing to make the trip, an uninhabited and beautiful beach awaits. Since 2005, the Na Pali Coast has grown in popularity thanks to Norwegian Cruise Line’s inclusion of the coast as part of its seven day itineraries aboard the Pride of America. The ship spends an afternoon cruising along the picturesque shoreline during sunset to give guests a glimpse of the true beauty of Hawaii.
